The Noësis Mission

The Noësis aims to be the premiere publication that simplifies and facilitate understanding of tough business and development concepts while accelerating learning of industry language and how-to.

It does this through its content—showcasing of successful Caribbean and Canadian entrepreneurs, research findings, issues, trends, companies, stories, commentaries, book reviews and entertainment pieces.  Articles and stories focus on growth related topics such as strategy, marketing, trade, performance management and measurement, market systems development, entrepreneurship, intellectual property and the creative industries.

In a world where the language of business expands almost daily and growth-related concepts can be tough to understand, it provides information, stories, concepts and ideas in a way that is easy to understand while facilitating the growth of linguistic competence in industry language.

The Noësis: MWildhorse Strategy and Performance Magazine (two issues per year) is committed to publishing non-technical as well as technical information in the fields of Business and International Development. With a focus on strategy, marketing, market systems development, entrepreneurship, trade, performance management and measurement, intellectual property, and the creative industries—the publication aims to provide a complete and reliable source of information, how-to and in field applications on the aforementioned topics.  It will facilitate the growth of grey literature in strategy, marketing and performance management unique to Caribbean-Canadian, Caribbean-Americans and Caribbean organizations. By Caribbean we refer to the Caribbean and its diasporic markets.  We are devoted to publishing high quality articles and stories that are easily accessible and sold at a price that makes it inclusive.

What’s Unique About It

It is the only business magazine that is designed to showcase the culture of Caribbean entrepreneurship and to promote entrepreneurship as a feasible economic activity for Caribbean immigrants in Canada, the USA and other diasporic markets of the Region.

It recognizes the importance of including entrepreneurs and researchers in domestic markets as well as other regions from which the DNA of Caribbean entrepreneurs come in all their ethnic blends.  Still it maintains its special focus on entrepreneurs, graduates and researchers who are predominantly of Afro-Caribbean descent and indigenous Caribbeans— for whom entrepreneurship was not thought to be desirable, feasible or viable options. For that reason, the Community of Practice for Caribbean Immigrant Entrepreneurs its BIDEM™ —International Caribbean Diaspora Entrepreneurs’ Conference and Trade Show receives prime space in the Winter edition of The Noësis.

The Noësis is a forum for awakening desire, driving aspiration and moving significantly more Caribbean immigrants to answer the call of entrepreneurship as well as for delivering on authorship— their second role as entrepreneurs.

Our semi-annual Magazine is a hybrid between a magazine and professional journal thus giving emerging and seasoned researchers, consultants and practitioners in Canada, the USA, the Caribbean and its Diaspora an audience and the opportunity to share their research findings.

Both magazine and journal articles are subjected to a double-blind peer review process.

The articles, tips, research and stories presented focuses primarily on growth related areas such as strategy, marketing, trade, performance management and measurement, market systems development, intellectual property and the creative industries.

The History

The Noësis was created in 2013. It was born of the need to fill client knowledge gaps and facilitate learning during the client consulting process. It had been on the list things to do for Magate Wildhorse Consulting however, working with a particular client pushed us to get it done with greater urgency.

In 2015 Meegan Scott decided to re-package the publication, making the Magazine-Professional Journal an Official Published Periodical. Darryl Dean, Assistant Editor-in-Chief had a meeting of minds on the commericalization process.
